"You trust me?" he asked her, voice rough as rocks, his brow furrowed thickly over his eyes, piercing her with the gravity of the situation.
She nodded, even as she felt her body tremble with both fear and undeniable anticipation. “‘Course, ah do,” she murmured. “Nobody ah trust more.”
His forehead smoothed out a little at that and he gave a short nod before he lifted the flimsy, sheer scarf and laid it over her head. Rogue stared at him through it and couldn’t help the brief imagery of a wedding and a vale, things she’d long thought to forget, before she smiled up at him, tipping her head back.
He caught her chin over the material, his bare fingers cupping it a long moment. When she didn’t feel the sucking draw of her powers consuming him after a minute passed, she let out a relieved breath, hope making her eyes widen.
"Last chance, darlin’," he told her, and she remembered all of his excuses of being too old and not good enough for her and how she deserved someone less jaded.
She rolled her eyes and offered him a smirk as her hand shot up, wrapped around the back of his neck, and pulled him in. “First chance,” she corrected before she leaned in and pressed her lips to his, parting them and tasting the faint, bitter flavor of beer and cheap cigars. She moaned, pressing herself closer to him, until every inch of her soft body fit against the muscled plains of his, and slid a hand up and over one of his coarse mutton chops.
His arm banded around her waist and lifted her right up off her feet, holding her tight enough that she could feel his heart pounding against her chest. She sighed appreciatively at his teeth scraping over her bottom lip, his tongue following to soothe the sting. She matched him, kiss for kiss, nip for nip, and felt more in charge or herself and her body than she had in ages.
It wasn’t perfect and she still wished she could touch him skin-to-skin, but it was enough. It was more than she’d had before and it was more than she had ever hoped to have with Logan.
When he set her back down on her feet, he rested his forehead against hers and licked his lips. “Ain’t no cure, but I think we can make it work…”
“Rogue eased one arm up slowly and gently touched his face, as if he were a long-lost lover and this would be the last time she would ever see him. For a short moment her touch was light. Wonderful.” - (X-Men: The Movie: The Novelization Page 106)
Rogue’s Rescue Sequence
A compilation of excerpts from the leaked early draft of the script, behind the scenes footage, and shots from the sequence which made it to some of the promotional materials. Not sure how the final thing is going to look, though. The specs for the Blu-ray of the theatrical cut does not list the sequence in its deleted scenes. It makes sense to save it up though since there’s an extended/alternate cut coming next year.
Most of the reblogs seemed surprised about the extended/alternate cut. There were fan queries over twitter of whether an extended cut with Rogue’s scenes is actually coming and Lauren Shuler Donner (producer) and James Finn of 20th Century Fox confirmed that one is indeed being planned for release. See: http://blogs.indiewire.com/theplaylist/x-men-days-of-future-past-extended-cut-confirmed-for-2015-20140805
I also think that it would be an alternate cut since from the moment Rogue begins to show up in the movie’s narrative at the beginning of the third and last act of the movie, things would be a little different from the theatrical cut.
I was SOOOOOO mad when they cut Rogue/Anna Paquin
“When ah went to the X-Men, ah was desperate. They had every reason to turn me away. But they didn’t. Ah figured if they believed in me, ah owed it to them to believe in myself. To try. To get better.”
